Immovable Young Men

I am having a gratitude moment about these two young men.

The shirts they each are wearing came from Youth Conference a few weeks ago. The theme, as you can see, was "Immovable".

These two young men have displayed to me today that they are just that. They are solid in their FAITH in CHRIST. They are solid in their SERVICE to OTHERS. They are solid in WHO THEY ARE...

Today I are proud to be their mother. They showed me, and many others, that they will follow through with a commitment they have made. To be the ones to help, even if others don't follow through. To spend time in the service of others is something worth value unmeasurable.

The saying "a picture says a thousand words" is a good way to tell this story. This tree is near Elk River, Idaho. It is a BIG tree. As you can see, all four boys are hand in hand and still aren't around one side. It was a sight to see.

I need to mention on a personal note how much
"I LOVE IDAHO".....It is so beautiful.

Back country roads are a great place to start driving. This was the case for both Josh and Chris. We were on our trip in Idaho. I stopped the car while on a dirt road and let Josh drive for quite a ways. Then Chris got his chance also. They both did pretty good for the first time behind the wheel. (of course there was no traffic to deal with). I think I did ok as a mom "advising" them on what to do.

Josh had a little trouble knowing how hard to push the gas to start and the brake to stop. He said they were "sensitive" and he didn't know how hard to push the peddle down. Chris thought it was "easy" till he got distracted looking at the scenery and had to brake hard to avoid the car in front of us. Yep, they both have a lot to learn still.

This was a trip we took to be with my mom, sister and her kids in Kooskia, Idaho. While on our way we went camping and did some fishing in Elk River, Idaho.

LOOK AT THAT BASS...Ben was up at the crack of dawn ready to go fishing. He was so anxious to get a fish caught that he was down to the dock before I was not even out of the tent. I hear him saying "I caught a fish". I was down to the dock not a minute later to see this fish on Ben's pole.

As I am told, Ben just dropped his line in by the dock and the fish got it.

That is the way to fish.

For our first time, as a family, we went camping. Battle Ground Lake, Washington was our destination. It was beautiful. Josh and Chris, having gone camping many times with the scouts, thought this was no big deal. Ben and Nic, not ever gone camping, thought this was fun. Sleeping in a tent, cooking hot dogs and marshmallows over a fire, swimming in the lake, being together as a family. This was a great time had by all.
